And if your kids are interested in seeing Busch Stadium, it's only a block away from the Drury. The Drury Plaza also has a very nice indoor pool. In the mornings, there is a very nice included hot buffet breakfast for all guests. I don't know if you are familiar with Drury properties, but your rate included free afternoon happy hour with enough 'snacks' (chicken fingers, hot dogs, baked potatoes, salad, etc) to make a meal, 3 free adult beverages for each adult, soda and popcorn for kids, etc. We always stay at the Drury Plaza at the Arch. I'm sure I'm the poster that bprop mentioned who mentions Drury frequently. on Friday or Saturday, you will save a little bit of $ and they are open until midnight, so you will still have plenty of time, and also have the added benefit of not having as many little kids running around as you would during the daytime hours. I forgot which one it is, but I'll give her credit for always mentioning the coupon code "FUN" which will save 15% at Drury properties.Ībsolutely City Museum!!! It will be the best time your kids (and you if you are young at heart) have ever had! And if you go after 5 p.m. Most are near restaurants and/or shopping.ĭrury Inns get a lot of high marks from posters here. If you want something that's a little more suburban but still central, the SpringHill Suites in Brentwood, Homewood Suites Galleria in Richmond Heights, Hampton Inn & Suites Forest Park, Drury Inn & Suites Forest Park, and Drury Inn & Suites Brentwood are good bets. Also be aware of parking fees at most of these, though street parking is free on weekends. Very nice and safe, a bit sterile, can have good deals on hotels especially over weekends. Be aware of parking fees at most but not all.Ĭlayton: a few miles west of downtown and just west of Forest Park (where the zoo, art museum, history museum, and science center are). There's also a newly remodeled Magnolia hotel that gets good reviews. Downtown: Drury Plaza, Drury Inn & Suites Convention Center and any of the chains (Hyatts, Marriott, Hiltons) are fine options.
